LP: 84 Paskong Pinoy

Gawang Pinoy, tatak pinoy, Paskong Pinoy talaga. Halina't sumali sa amin dito.

The TUB made my day!

At last! I was able to claim my FREE Go Nuts Donuts Ice Cream tub. Woohoo! I took a leave off from work today because I had been running a fever last night. I thought I'd be okay when I wake up but failed. Pffft.. It got worse. What could possibly make me well? Ice cream! A comfort food of all time.

Good thing I shared this promo to my good friend Jaimee, who also was a Coney Island fan. So, after my dad's birthday dinner, off we drove to Westgate Alabang. Hubby decided to go home coz he wasn't feeling good too. Thanks to the Friendship routes here in the south. It made our travel to Westgate a quick and stress-free one.

So, the Go Nuts donuts ice cream tubs are here. What can I say? Ahhh, I feel better now. Haha. Exaggerating here. Kidding aside, I love it. The taste: not to sweet (perfect for my swollen tonsils. The texture: really, really creamy. The price: Free!!! Well, if you joined the FB promo, then it's for free. If not, It's Php215 per tub for Premium Flavors, for regular flavors, I think it's Php185. Next on my list: A tub of New York! New York!

A good buy

My Husband and I dropped by the World Bazaar at the World Trade Center. Lots of good stuff, lots of food, crowded with people. Hubby was able to buy statement shirts to give as Christmas presents to his buddies. Oh, we saw Donita Rose too. She kinda looked tired but was still pretty, always smiling to customers who drop by her stall, buying stuff or not. What did I buy? This:

Sense and Spray

Wouldn't you love a clean, tidy, sweet-smelling home? I am happy to have purchased Glade's Sense and Spray Automatic Freshener. I only bought one as I still have to try it out. We've been using Air Wick earlier models here at home and have it in the bathrooms and living room. Thanks to MIL for that! Finding a refill is difficult here and would cost me much so I started to try Glade's product. What can I say? I am happy with the results. So, while MIL hasn't sent in the refills yet, I'm sticking it out with Glade.

December

It's really beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Carols fill the air, shopping malls filled with people everywhere, chestnuts are now roasting on an open fire, lanterns and christmas trees are filled with colorful lights. I believe that everyone and not only me feels that Christmas is indeed here! I am proud to have started my list and checked it twice already since the last week of November.
Happy December, everyone!

Making marriage Happier & More Exciting

On my night table sits the Book of Tips by Julio Silverio. It offers so many
tips about anything but not everything under the sun. I finished the book in one
sitting and was somehow enlightened. Let me share with you one tip which
hubby & I enjoyed reading:

49 Tips on Making marriage Happier & More Exciting:

What a Husband can do:

1. Kiss the back o your wife’s neck once a day.
2. Bring her flowers while she can still smell them.
3. Don’t think you always have to keep your chin up. Cry a little, she’ll love
mothering you.
4. Even if you have been married for a long time, compliment her cooking.
5. Ask your wife sometimes regarding business problems. Sometimes take it.
6. Bring home phonograph records of songs you both remember fondly.
7. Never say, “I had that for lunch today.”
8. Light her cigarettes - even if you have to walk across the room to do it.
9. Learn some new jokes for the sake of your wife.
10. Leave parties when she wants you to - within an hour or so.
11. Kiss her in public. She may looked embarrassed or sound sore, but she’ll like
it.
12. Never ask her “What have you done all day, dear?”
13. Send her presents for no reason at all.

What a Wife can do:

1. Don’t make him the family “meany”. Don’t tell your children,”Just wait till
your dad gets home”, or “I want to let you but Daddy says no.”
2. Don’t tell him your problems until you’ve fed him.
3. If it’s real disaster - like taking the fender off the car - make a special
dinner.
4. Buy a new negligee and wear it.
5. Learn to translate your husband properly. “You look okay” may mean “Darling,
you’re looking wonderful tonight.”
6. Remember the things you said and did to land him and try them again.
7. Don’t shush your husband if he sings at parties or acts the clown.
8. Don’t keep telling him he’s too old to do some of the things that he wants to
do.
9. If possible, be home when he gets there.
10. Put on your cold cream in the daytime, for housewives.
11. If he’s usually amorous and aggressive, turn the tables once in a while.
12. Pay cash for his presents - don’t buy him a gift and the charge it to him.
13. Don’t keep asking him, “Do you love me?” - and believe him when he says that
he does.
14. Don’t borrow his razor.
15. Don’t give him surprise parties.

What you Both can Do:

1. Treat each other occasionally as though you were meeting for the first time.
2. Don’t call each other Mother or Father, and stay away from the couples who
do.
3. Never sleep on a problem without a solution or an agreement.
4. Have a big Family Bible, read it together and enter family records on it.
5. Take up a daring sport that you can do together - like skin-ediving,
water-skiing, or mountain climbing.
6. Stop keeping up with the Joneses.
7. When one of you puts the first dent on the new car, laugh about it.
8. Don’t live all your life by the clock, don’t condemn the other about being
late.
9. Avoid getting mad at the same time.
10. Respect each other’s privacy.
11. Don’t sacrifice all your fun today for what you think may be security tom.
12. Take a walk in the rain together.
13. Spend the night at a hotel.
14. Make a family picture album together.
15. Have one night out alone at least once a month.
16. Switch of the tv and talk.
17. Always have some project going for the future - something to do, build, or
buy.
18. Build each other up in public. Don’t try to compete.
19. Stop going to parties that you don’t want to go.
20. Never begin a sentence with “After all I’ve done for you…”
21. Now that you are finished reading this, tell your husband/wife and that you
would do it all over again.

More tips to come….

Another tip I could share with you is to play games together. At least twice a month, my husband would go visit a game torrents site and see if there are any new computer or playstation games to download. That's one bonding activity we look forward to. We do compete, yeah. But it's a healthy competition we have. At the end of the day, we have something to talk about and laugh at too. Try it.

I want a Polite Umbrella !

I think I'm falling in love with umbrellas. Yes! Umbrellas. In fact, I've bought 3 umbrellas last month. A cute one which perfectly fits in my bag, another Genki umbrella (my third) which I learned from Anton's blog and Shopcrazy's site last year, and an all-weather Parasol umbrella (is that what you call it?).

Now, I'm hoping to have this : Polite Umbrella! I don't think this umbrella's for sale. If it indeed IS for sale, I think it would cost much too. Hmmm. But I want... I want... I want this!!! Just by watching the video and checking on the photos, you'd know why it's called the Polite Umbrella.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you for another beautiful day. Thanks for all the blessings. Thanks for guiding us in every step of the way. Thanks for the challenges for without those, we wouldn't be stronger day by day. Thanks for the love. Thank you for just being there. Thank you for my family and friends. Big, big THANKS to YOU!

Photo taken by my cam phone at work early morning at around 5:30am. If you see such a lovely sight, wouldn't you be saying THANKS to HIM everyday?

What are you THANKFUL for?

Positivity Monday

My positivity Monday theme still comes from the God Wants You to Know application in FaceBook....

On this day, God wants you to know...
... that today you have a cause for celebration. Today, you should celebrate what an unbelievable life you have had so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and, yes, even the hardships because they have served to make you stronger. Just as a gem cannot be polished without friction, nor can a life be perfected without trials. Take a time to acknowledge your life and to praise yourself.

Very true, right? Celebrate! Celebrate the life you have. Be thankful for everything HE has given you. Celebrate winning each hardship or battle life offers. Face the world with your chin up and head high. Have fun. CELEBRATE! Life's to short for you not to enjoy it. As I always say ... Be happy in love and with life!
